THE TEAM:

Linxcel Seton Tuning will be competing with two 600cc Yamaha R6 bikes in the season's races.

Linxcel Europe, the lead sponsor for the team, is an IT consultancy and software reseller, specialising in high performance, high availability applications solutions..

Team manager is Phil Seton of Seton Tuning, a Colchester-based specialist in four stroke engine tuning and race motorcycle preparation. Former racer Phil got into bike tuning when he failed to find anyone who could do a good job for him – and hasn't looked back, picking up a string of wins for Seton-tuned machines since 2000.

The riders:

Andy

Andy Weymouth

Andy Weymouth is Linxcel Seton Tuning's lead rider for 2008. Andy started his biking as a motorcross rider, but took to road bikes as a result of injury. His first season on 600cc machines started promisingly, but he was out for 3 months following a racing crash. In his second season, he achieved second place in the championship.

Andy arrived at the Linxcel Seton Tuning team for the 2007 MRO Supersport series with plenty of 600cc riding experience. Team manager Phil Seton was convinced he had the talent, but had previously lacked the bike on which to shine. To repay the compliment, Andy delivered a number of outstanding performances, lap records – and the championship title.

pete

Pete Spalding

Pete Spalding, a 20 year old who hails from Dorset, started racing at 15 years of age in the production 125/Aprilia Superteen series, joins Andy on the Seton grid. At the age of 17, when most people are thinking about learning to drive, Pete was competing in his first full year of racing, on a Kawasaki ZXR400.

In 2005, Pete moved up to a Kawasaki ZX6RR in the British Supersport Cup series for a valuable year of learning that he put into great effect the following year, winning not only the championship, but taking the chequered flag at all twelve rounds.

For Pete, 2007 was a year of ups and downs. His riding was less consistent, there were personal complications away from the track, and a crash led to a broken arm. Now, having put the year behind him, and having spent considerable time in training to get over his injuries, Pete is fully fit and raring to go for 2008.
